Auto Correct Rule
Select ‘Insert ‘ - ‘Symbol ‘. Select the symbol you want to use e.g. â next select Autocorrect
Select insert > Symbol Select the symbol you want to use eg â next select Autocorrect
Type in the letter you wish to replace and the symbol will already be entered and then select add.
Here you can use entire words to replace or just single letters. Note that if you just use letters they will not change in words for example â will not show up correctly in Maori.
You can replace words such as Maori by typing the entire word in the replace box and typing Mâori in the ‘with’ box (in Plain text) and selecting “Add” and “OK”.
Find and Replace
First you will need one macron already in your document by inserting it as above (insert symbol) next copy this symbol (Ctrl C)
Highlight the character you want changed e.g. “a”
Next press Ctrl and “F” and select the Replace tab Now paste the macron into the Replace with box (Ctrl V) Insure Match Case is ticked and select replace all if they want the changes made to the entire document.

Can we provide Maori Macrons on the Thin Clients?
The short answer to this is that while all the macrons etc. are available on the terminal servers, the thin client devices do not support that language so can’t generate the character codes correctly. This means no macrons from the IC keyboards.
What is the Work Around?
User’s may add macrons to a document if they wish by using the "insert symbol" command while they type, or they can use the 'find & replace' function or even set up an Autocorrect rule, to automatically correct Maori words within Word. The Maori dictionaries are there also to assist with this.
