Activating Your ID Card

Students are issued with a ID Card at enrolment time. The card is activated by registration at a Registration Kiosk.

At the Registration kiosk:
Existing/past students with an existing computer account will select the “ Existing Student” option and enter their username and password to register their ID Card and get their PIN number.
New Students will select the "New Student" option, which now involves activating their student account via the new user process, thereby registering their ID Card and acquiring their username and PIN number and setting a password.

Once your student ID card is activated, an email will be sent (to your Waikato email address) with a PIN for use with Waikato IT systems. If you are studying in Tauranga you will also be emailed a PIN for use on Bay of Plenty Polytechnic campuses.

The following locations have been setup on campus to facilitate the process:

Registration Kiosks

The Library on Level Two (2 kiosks) and Level Four (1 kiosk)
Waikato Management School (MSB0, MS6)
School of Education and Information Centre (LT2.27 hallway)
Tauranga - Information Centre at the Bongard
Tauranga - Kahurangi Learning Worx (A Block) at the Windermere campus
